The Dickinson Collection View the Virtual Exhibit at Mystic River Historical Society represents 1,384 photographs taken by Mary Josephine Dickinson (1880-1955) of Mystic, Connecticut, and surrounding areas, between 1925 and the early 1930s. Dickinson lived in Mystic, CT, from about 1900 until she died. She attended local schools, and in 1912, she worked as a stenographer for the Standard Machinery Co. At that time, she lived at 11 Denison Avenue in Mystic, and from 1916 to 1930, she boarded at 62 East Main Street, Mystic. In 1916, she was a bookkeeper for Mystic River National Bank. In 1927, Josephine was an assistant office manager at a business in Industrial Place, and later, likely in the 1930s, she was a bookkeeper at Cottrell Lumber Co. At one time during her career, she was a Justice of the Peace. She is buried in Elm Grove Cemetery, Mystic
