Description:
The Woman's Exchange on Water St. during WWII, with a British War Relief Society truck parked in front, 1940, b&w print. A sign in the window says War Relief, and posters showing war damage lean against the buildings. When the Groton (now Chelsea-Groton) Savings Bank was built in the early 1950's, the Seth (Winty) Burrows House, to the left of the Exchange, was removed to Mystic Seaport. The Exchange building and neighboring structures were demolished.
